Hi, I’m new here and still exploring the blockchain world, I came across something saying ‘Kaia is EVM-compatible’, could someone help me understand what that actually means, especially for a beginner like me? Thanks in advance!

This means that Kaia aligns with all the layers of the etheruem blockchain, application layer like using Solidity to build applications, or protocol layer like the EVM specifications and improvements, and some of the upgrades of the Ethereum.

Yo welcome welcome to the dev community, regarding your question, just imagine If Ethereum is like a phone that runs certain apps, Kaia is like another phone that can run the exact same apps without changing them. So developers who already made things for Ethereum can easily use or move them to Kaia.

When people say Kaia is EVM-compatible, it means that Kaia supports the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), the “engine” that runs smart contracts on Ethereum. Thanks to this, developers can use familiar tools, and even deploy existing Ethereum apps on Kaia with little to no changes.

So if you’re new to blockchain, EVM compatibility basically means you don’t have to learn a whole new system, a lot of what works on Ethereum will also work on Kaia.
